Hotels

We're staying at some really lovely hotels around Sri Lanka, one of which we stayed at last time. A theme emerges in the photos we've chosen: pools! Sri Lanka is sunny and hot and we plan to soak up as much sun and pool time as possible, between eating and rambling around.

In Negombo, we'll stay at Daffodils Beach:

In Tangalle, we return to Buckingham Place. It has been upgraded since we were there last, but we have remembered it all these years and we're super glad to return. So far the customer service is just as amazing as we remembered.

In Colombo, we'll stay at the Cinnamon Lakeside, which is walking distance to Galle Face Green, where we hope to eat some delicious food.

Away from the coast, we head to Anuradhapura, where we'll stay at the Aryana Boutique Hotel. Anuradhapura is a holy city in the mountains, so there will be stuff to see in this UNESCO World Heritage City.

To the far northern coast, we'll stay at the Fox Jaffna. Jaffna was the center for the Tamil Tigers of the civil war, and the culture there is more Hindu than Buddhist so it will be interesting to see.

Off to the eastern coast, we'll stay at Trinco Blu, in Trincomalee.

Down that coast, in Pasikuda we'll stay at Karpaha Sands, where we will have our first (and probably last) experience glamping.
